Interior Design & Space Planning
Creating an inspirational workplace that blends creativity and functionality isn’t easy. We have learned over the years that tapping into the DNA and unique personality of a business is best achieved by pairing the right business with the right interior designer. We’ve witnessed the magic happen when a relationship blossoms between the client and the design team.
It’s integral to the success of the project. We’ve also seen first-hand how a project can unravel when the designer and the client aren’t on the same page. We are fortunate to have great relationships with a multitude of interior design practices, both nationally and internationally.
The workplace design and fit-out sector is flourishing like never before. The rise of co-working, the influx of residential and hospitality influences converging on the workplace, a plethora of higher quality materials and products and a need to invest in workplaces to attract and retain the best people, have placed a greater importance on the design process.

Objective Design Perspective:
An independent design practice is appointed directly by you, the client. They will always act in your best interests, focusing solely on creating a space that aligns with your brand and culture. A fit-out contractor’s in-house design team can be compromised by budgets, or a need to claw-back losses if a project underperforms.
Specialised Expertise and Broader Knowledge
Independent design practices usually have larger design teams, which brings more ideas and input to the collaborative process. Furthermore, design practices aren’t usually confined to the workplace sector, and engage in hospitality, retail and high-end residential projects. Their experience in these other sectors brings fresh perspectives and ideas that creatives who are confined to working in workplaces can’t offer.
Quality Assurance and Oversight:
An independent designer acts as an advocate for the client and will hold the fit-out contractor to account if their exacting standards aren’t met. There is a danger that quality issues can be ‘swept under the carpet’ if the designer is part of the fit-out contractor. This third-party oversight can be crucial for maintaining quality and addressing any issues impartially.
Cost Transparency:
Independent designers can help clients understand all costs upfront, as they don’t stand to profit from the construction or materials. With in-house tams, there may be incentives to recommend solutions that benefit the contractor’s bottom-line rather than the client’s budget.
