Are the materials you use in your office fit-outs sustainable?

Historically, the interior construction sector has suffered from bad practice, the use of unsustainable materials and high levels of unrecyclable waste.  But things are getting much better.  Whilst pasterboard and glazed partition systems that form most walls are now predominantly recyclable, with a high recycled content, we are seeing a wider use of recyclable materials in other areas of the fit out.  This includes hemp being used not just in furniture fabrics, but as a resin for chair shells.  Paperstone is a revolutionary new solid surface made from condensed paper pulp.  And Solid Wool is a sustainable composite wool resin that can be used in furniture making and bepsoke joinery for office fit outs.  These are just a small number of innovative new products in a rapidly changing market for sustainable products in the office fit out sector.

How long does an office fit out project typically take?

The timeline for an office fit out project can vary depending on the scope and complexity of the work, coupled by the square footage of the footprint. During the initial consultation, we provide a detailed program of work which gives a week by week schedule and sequence of the project.  Typically, a 5,000 sq ft. project would take approximately 7-8 weeks, but fast-track projects can be done quicker.
