Missoma, Victoria Quarter, Leeds

About Project

Missoma is one of the fastest growing contemporary jewellery brands in the UK.  It began life in 2008, when founder and creative director, Melissa Hordern, realised that affordable, durable, ‘demi-fine’ jewellery didn’t exist.  So she created it herself – and pioneered the production of handcrafted gold vermeil pieces.

As the brand has grown exponentially, they targeted Leeds as the place to open their first own-brand retail store outside London. They continued their ongoing partnership with London-based design practice, Aler/d, who had helped design some of their concession spaces in Harvey Nichols and Selfridges.

Mirmac was appointed to manage and deliver the fit-out of the Leeds store.  The scope of work included flooring, decoration, forming rooms and feature walls, bespoke joinery, soft furnishings, and electrical work.

“Mirmac interpreted our creative vision for Missoma perfectly. The quality of work coupled with the pro-active attitude of Mirmac’s team has been first-class.”
